I can’t let May come to an end without saying thank you to V.M. Burns for including my book Buzzkill in her article “The Irrepressible Allure of the Wedding Cozy” on Crime Reads.
I loved writing the book and based some of the cozy craziness on my own wedding now almost thirty years ago. Are you invited to a wedding this summer or possibly planning one? It’s summer, there’s love in the air and you have the hall booked. What could possibly go wrong?
In Buzzkill, Betsy gets overwhelmed with the process until she enlists a wily wedding planner, Mr. Andre, to help her escape a white wedding catastrophe. It doesn’t help that she has endangered Pecan Bayou with a bad recipe for homemade calamine lotion.
Did you have a crazy wedding? Do you have a favorite wedding cozy mystery? Let me know in the comments!

I’m on the last stop of my book tour for Buzzkill and it’s a good one. Dru’s Book Musings asked me to write a day in the life of Betsy Livingston. Here’s just a little of her day:
I sipped at my coffee as I thought about my day. It was going to be another busy one. I was headed over to the diner to give a talk on my latest column, “Casseroles for Any Occasion”. I’m going to be handing out my recipe for Tator Tot Casserole. Ruby Green is always working on these lady’s club days so I promised I would drop off a copy of the recipe by her shop, The Best Little Hairhouse in Texas. I admit I’m pretty busy today, but a little secret that nobody else in this little town of Pecan Bayou Texas knows is that tomorrow I don’t have anything planned. ….
Will Betsy keep her free day tomorrow? Find out more by reading the full post at Dru’s Book Musings.
Now that my book tour is ending I would like to thank Lori at Great Escape Book Tours. This was a wonderful tour with some fantastic cozy blog stops. I feel blessed to have found you.

To the next book…
I’m over at Brooke Blogs today with an excerpt of Buzzkill and a review from Brooke. Here is a part of her review.
Though Buzz Kill is the fourth in the Pecan Bayou series, I found I was definitely able to read it as a stand-alone. I felt like I had a good grasp of the characters. Buzz Kill is a perfect cozy mystery: it has romance and a touch of humor. I love that in a cozy!

Thank you Brooke!
Readers are also leaving some great helpful hints that Betsy would love to use in her column.

I’m over at Chloe Gets a Clue today where my main character Betsy, The Helpful Hinter, is having a conversation with Chloe Carstairs another fictional character who is an interior decorator and amateur detective . This was so much fun as the two of them discuss weddings and solving crimes and compare Chloe’s Rhodesian Ridgeback with Betsy’s Weimaraner.
Here is a little of the conversation:
Chloe: Good tip. Speaking of Buzzkill, your recipe for homemade calamine lotion has some unintended side-effects. Want to talk about it?
Betsy: You would bring that up. Next thing I need to ask you is whose wedding are you going to attend – mine or Prissy’s? She is so stressed out trying to be the premier bride in town that when she put it on her skin, she broke out in hives. Of course she blames me, but I just think it was her own body turning on her.

Here is some of Andrea’s review.
The hilarity that ensues while Betsy tries to get organized and then gets a wedding planner is truly priceless. It definitely made me wonder why anyone goes through all the hassle or in this case why they’d want to get married on Valentine’s Day. (Oh yeah..so their hubby won’t forget!) The whole wedding planning process is full of issues thanks to another couple getting married on the same day and one half of the wedding party is the mayor’s son.

I’m guest posting over at Melina’s Book Blog Today. I discuss my tendency to close the bedroom door and to put my violence offstage. In the age of graphic storytelling I wondered if this made my books without a market and if there were still book-lovers who wanted stories like this? My delight was discovering the world of cozy readers! Here is a little of my article:
The traditional structure of the cozy mystery is cozy-not realistic. If I’m going to write love scenes into my stories, then I’m going to emphasize romance and sweetness and I’m not going to emphasize sweaty bodies and bulging bosoms.

Well, Teresa Trent has done it again. I think this has been the best Betsy Livingston book yet. I really enjoy visiting Betsy and all the great folks of Pecan Bayou, TX. 5 Stars

Reading Time-So Precious!
My book tour stop today is a new review for Buzzkill . Rhonda, whose blog is titled ReadALot has already read 213 books in the first six months of 2013. I have a confession to make Rhonda, I’m the mother of a dyslexic and as for me, even though I’m not quite dyslexic, thank God for Kindle narration and audiobooks. You rock, girl! Here is a little of Rhonda’s Review:
This is the 4th book in the Pecan Bayou series by Teresa Trent. It is the first one I have read. I enjoyed it. I did guess the killer but I had decided I was wrong. Had no idea of why but it made sense.
The characters were well developed. I feel I missed a little of it because I had not read the other books. I was afraid of not knowing if Betsy and Leo were a great match when they were not answering questions of where they would live after the wedding.

…and thank you Rhonda!
