I am happy to announce that Nora, Tuck and all the folks in Piney Woods, Texas have a brand new adventure!
Nora Alexander has sunk her inheritance into the Tunie Hotel, in Piney Woods, Texas. Now there is a chance that her first major booking, a national cat lovers’ conference called Meow Meet-Up, will help her bottom line.
Pushy reporter Alan Shaw shows up the day before the event, making trouble for Nora and the conference.
When Shaw is later found dead in the bottom of the hotel’s faulty elevator shaft, Nora depends upon boyfriend and police officer, Tuck Watson, to investigate and save the Tunie Hotel’s reputation. Nora also has to deal with a surprise health inspection and a conference organizer bent on getting steep discounts for conference attendees.
Things spin further out of Nora’s control when she discovers she has a cat dander allergy setting off unpredictable sneezing episodes at inopportune times. The featured feline guest, grand champion show cat, Catpurnicas, escapes and disappears, leading to a town-wide search. Surrounded by members of the Meow Meet-Up convention, Nora must sort through a list of suspects that include a beloved cozy mystery writer. A Sneeze to Die for is the second book in the Piney Woods Cozy Mystery Series, which began with Murder of a Good Man.

Ladies and Gentlemen. Boys and Girls. I give you the cover for Till Dirt Do Us Part!
My latest book is now available on Amazon. I hope you figured out from my earlier post this crime-solving adventure centers around the world of gardening. Yes, that’s Betsy’s dog Butch on the cover and some freshly constructed planting boxes. Now, what could go wrong with a bunch of dirt and seeds?
Not everything stays buried. When Betsy, a notorious brown thumb gets roped into a gardening contest sponsored by the Pecan Bayou Gazette, she finds herself digging up more than weeds. She is ridiculed by the garden club ladies, and now her heart breaks for a newly single mom whose world has just collapsed. The Happy Hinter is back so take some time to revisit the cozy little town Pecan Bayou, Texas. Grab a glass of sweet tea before you turn the dirt in the garden and sit a spell with all your favorite characters who dole out heartfelt caring and compassion with a side of humor. Till Dirt Do Us Part includes bonus recipes and helpful hints from Betsy’s column!
A quick note to my readers: Although I would love to have you pick this up right away, it is going to be FREE on May 1-5! If you grab it on one of the free days, don’t be shy about leaving a review!
January is a big month for me! My new Henry Park series starts today with psychic artist Gabby Wolfe in her first mystery solving adventure COLOR ME DEAD. I’ve moved from the warm comforts of Texas to the spectacular Rocky Mountains in Colorado.
Artist Gabby Wolfe has the ability to see not only the beauty of the living but the despair of the dead. When she returns to her childhood home in Henry Park Colorado, she is forced to bring along her younger brother Mitch. He is on a “break” from college where he was majoring in wine, women. and song. If that isn’t enough they also have Mitch’s rambunctious beagle Luigi along who prefers to spend his days wallowing in junk food. When Gabby draws the death of a young woman before it happens, she knows she must tell someone and risk a new job and her professional credibility. Will she reveal her secret in time to save the woman in the water or will it be too late?
I moved from Colorado years ago, but a part of my heart has always stayed there. Living in Texas with my family, it’s not always easy to travel with my son, so in a way, I get to go back and visit every day I work on the series. The character of Gigi, who has cerebral palsy was a challenge to write because she is “on the case” with Gabby and can only communicate through a Tobii, an augmented communication device. Just because Gigi is in a wheelchair doesn’t mean she isn’t going to let you know how she feels! Her character was inspired by people I’ve known while being a part of the disability community with my son, and Gigi will be a recurring character.
Now here’s a little secret. Color Me Dead is only available on Amazon at this time and will be on a blog tour January 23 through 27. I am so excited that Escape With Dollycas Tours has booked me on three and even four blogs a day during that time! Not only can you follow me on the tour for interviews and reviews but you can pick up a copy of the book for FREE during those days. That’s January 23-27 so mark it on your calendar right now!
I am happy to announce I have a new book coming out in January 2017! I am introducing the Henry Park Series with my new book, Color Me Dead. Right now, it is still on preorder at Amazon and I plan to coordinate my blog tour with the days the book will be free on Kindle, so I’ll keep you posted. If you can wait, you can get it free in January, if you can’t wait and want to preorder- I like the way you think!
My family moved to Colorado when I was a preteen, and it was where I called home for many years. As much as I love Texas, there will always be a little of that mountain girl in me. The town of Henry Park is a mixture of several communities along the front range and I loved creating it, along with a whole new set of characters and a loveable beagle named Luigi.
My main character, Gabby, is a talented illustrator who is also psychic. She moves back to her childhood home of Henry Park to work on a book and begins having visions that end up on her sketchpad. She is accompanied by her little brother, Mitch, who has just finished six years of college with no degree, unless you count beer pong as a major.
Now, if you are still hoping for the next Pecan Bayou book, don’t worry. That’s in the works also and will be out in 2017. More surprises to come…
