One of the hardest parts of writing is the discipline required to keep at it. I am guest posting over at Lori’s Reading Corner today with my post-Get Er’ Done: A Writer’s Guide to Staying On Task. Here is a little of the article:
I am one of the many people participating in National Novel Writing Month this year. I started out with all of the energy and excitement of a new parent with dresser full of onesies. Now that we are at the end of the month, I feel like that burned out mom with glassy eyes, draining a diet coke while her kids tear up the McDonald’s tube room. Writing 50,000 words in one month is not that hard, but keeping at it some days is nearly impossible. I can come up with 50,000 excuses not to write and only a few to write.
